I am a trained and qualified Waldorf Teacher, educated to degree level, with a Level 5 qualification in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I am passionate about teaching, having worked with students of all ages in different capacities, and am currently working as a volunteer teaching English to migrants and refugees with New Routes Integration in Norwich. I also work at the Cambridge Waldorf school.
After many years experience of working with children of all ages I have found that using pictures, stories, songs, rhymes, and games is the most effective way of teaching and keeping children engaged - along with a great sense of humour and fun! It is well known that when children are relaxed and enjoying their lessons then the learning experience is optimised.
When teaching English to adults I find that stimulating conversation is a great way for students to learn. Through conversation students can learn about differences in culture and lifestyle, as well as the important grammatical elements of tense and sentence structure, and how to sound authentic. Grammar is also an important part of learning a language, and this I teach with clarity and consistency, adding in lots of real life experiences to keep the lessons alive.
If my lessons sound like a good fit for yourself or your child and you would like to try one out then please do get in touch. I offer every student a free trial lesson in which we can discuss what your specific learning requirements are, so that I can tailor lessons to suit your individual needs and your unique learning style.
