I’m passionate about supporting learners to progress in a way that feels realistic, empowering, and sustainable. As an Employability and Skills Tutor, I take a holistic approach by understanding the individual’s wider circumstances, strengths, and long-term ambitions — not just their immediate needs. I work with learners to identify their longer-term goals first, then break these down into manageable steps so they can build momentum and see clear progress.
A key part of my approach is building confidence and self-belief. Many people already have valuable skills, but may lack confidence due to past experiences, setbacks, or uncertainty about what they can achieve. I create a supportive and encouraging space where learners feel listened to, respected, and motivated. I help them recognise their strengths, develop practical skills, and build resilience through consistent progress and reflection.
I can support learners with:
Identifying long-term goals and creating realistic action plans
Building confidence and motivation, including overcoming setbacks
CV writing and improvement, tailored to roles and sectors
Job searching strategies, including where and how to find opportunities
Interview preparation, confidence, and answering common questions
Application forms and personal statements
Workplace skills, including communication, teamwork, and professionalism
Employability skills development, including time management and organisation
Exploring career options, training pathways, and progression routes
Identifying skills and training opportunities to support progression
Apprenticeship advice and guidance, including routes, eligibility and progression
Understanding barriers to work and signposting to relevant support
Setting SMART goals and tracking progress over time
