My typical lesson formats consist of a general cover of the topics content, including any key definitions or formulas. I then like to make sure there are a significant amount of example and practice questions as I believe in order to succeed in Mathematics, practice is key. I then like to give the individual students some time to ask any questions about the topic and then move on to set individual tasks and practice questions to make sure there is a thorough understanding of the topic achieved. However, this is only a general lesson structure, and I find that each student is different in terms of the speed they work at and the speed of their progress, but also which methods are most helpful and useful for them. So I like to get a bit of information about the student, particularly about their strengths and weaknesses in the subject area, alongside what techniques they might find are useful. From this, I will put together lesson plans that are suited for each individual student in hope for them to achieve the best of their potential.
