Before lessons, students should provide the areas that they struggle with, whether that is a few particular areas, or even the entire subject, to allow me to create lesson plans ahead of schedule. Lessons will consist of an explanation into the subject area, including model questions with step by step guides, and I will encourage students to ask any questions, whether that be clarification or if they need areas to be explained again. This will then be followed by questions for the student to attempt (I encourage students to have a pen and paper or a whiteboard, and a calculator on them) and I will provide feedback, explanations and questions. I aim to provide a pressure free environment, maths can often be a very difficult subject, and so I never expect students to get things right on the first try, my only expectation is that we maintain a positive, respectful environment, and that the student is willing to try their best on questions.
