I have over 10 years teaching experience in both a primary school setting and as a private tutor. A qualified British teacher with experience teaching children with various needs including autism, ADHD and dyslexia. I try to incorporate themes and subjects of interest of my students to keep them engaged. I like to use a range of books, games, songs/rhymes and technology to help students retain information.
I have taught in different countries including Thailand, Hong Kong, Egypt and the UK so am patient, friendly and understand the needs of different ages and nationalities. I understand the English National Curriculum, having over 6 years experience teaching in both Key Stage 1 and 2. I have tutored both adults practising oral communication and conversation, as well as children wanting to improve a weak area or study for different exams/interviews.
I am phonics trained, so can teach reading, writing and spelling, having used a variety of programs including Little Wandle, Letters and Sounds, Jolly Phonics and Read, Write Inc.
I taught primary children daily online during the pandemic so am competent in using Zoom, Google Meets and various different online programs.
I am well travelled and have experience working with HNW families in Egypt and London as well as expelled teenagers from difficult backgrounds who need extra support and nurturing, having traumatic experiences or behavioural difficulties.
The ages I have taught are from 2 to 45years old so I can adapt and cater to all ages.
I currently live in London so am prepared to travel to students homes or local libraries/coffee shops for lessons or I can teach online, having months of experience teaching through many different platforms throughout covid.

Kathy did a cultural experience week with my three children in Hong Kong aged 6, 8 &10 when they travelled with my while I was working. She was fantastic!! She was fun, enthusiastic, kind, and the kids had a fantastic time. They say it was their best trip ever. Kathy was organised, efficient, helpful and we really really appreciated having her.

Kathy tutored my little boy and helped with learning early reading, letters and sounds. She made a lot of this fun too using toys to begin with or chalk/ paint letters with sticks etc as he is more practical with learning. Would highly recommend
