I teach GCSE English Language and English Functional Skills. I am a lecturer and examiner with extensive teaching and pastoral experience, My lessons begin with an understanding of how your week has gone, what went well and perhaps what was a challenge. This will help to inform the type and level of teaching and learning needed for that lesson. We will begin by setting the objectives, then do a starter task to recall previous learning and to introduce the new concepts for that lesson. You will be given a modelling task and strategy to practice how to think about the question being asked. You will then work on an independent question to assess your understanding and to boost confidence. Feedback will be given throughout the lesson. Lastly, we will do a recap and you will be given an idea of what to work on for the next lesson. We will end with a confidence meter to assess your progress, confidence and motivation for the next lesson. And always a smile and high five for a well done session!
