Katerina Papakonstantinou

I am an experienced and supportive tutor who is committed to helping students achieve their full potential and feel confident in their learning. My lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs. I design my own teaching materials, focusing on specific grammar and vocabulary areas, and I make sure students fully understand the concepts before attempting any exercises.

My lessons focus on developing all key language skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. For beginners, I introduce the Greek alphabet, pronunciation, and essential vocabulary in a clear and structured way so that students build a strong foundation from the start.

For intermediate and advanced students, lessons are designed to expand vocabulary, improve grammatical accuracy, and develop fluency through discussion, reading texts, and practical exercises. I also include cultural elements so that students gain a deeper understanding of Greek life, traditions, and everyday communication.

I hold a PhD in History and have many years of teaching experience. I also work as an examiner for a major examination board, which gives me a clear understanding of exam requirements and assessment criteria. This experience allows me to guide students effectively when preparing for GCSE and A Level exams and to help them develop the skills needed to achieve high results.

Student wellbeing is also a priority for me. I pay particular attention to managing exam anxiety, as this can be one of the biggest obstacles to effective preparation. I help students identify their strengths and weaknesses and develop strategies that allow them to build confidence and perform at their best.

Whether students are learning Greek for academic purposes, travel, heritage, or personal interest, lessons are adapted to their goals and pace. My aim is to create a supportive and motivating environment where students feel comfortable practising the language and gradually build confidence in using Greek in real-life situations.
