I really enjoy helping students understand Maths and develop confidence in their abilities. Having achieved an A in A-Level Maths and 9s at GCSE Maths, I understand the importance of building a strong foundation and being able to apply knowledge to different types of questions.
My lessons focus on making Maths feel less overwhelming by breaking down topics into smaller, manageable steps and explaining methods clearly. I want students to understand why something works, rather than simply memorising a method, so that they can confidently tackle questions independently.
I believe practice is a really important part of learning Maths, so lessons will include working through questions together, identifying areas of difficulty and gradually building towards more challenging problems. I am happy to explain things in different ways and go through questions step by step until everything makes sense.
I am patient and approachable, and I want students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and taking their time. There is no such thing as a silly question, and I think building confidence is just as important as improving grades.
As someone who has recently completed GCSEs and A-Levels and is now studying Medicine at university, I can also share revision techniques and exam strategies that have helped me throughout my own education. Ultimately, I want my students to feel more confident in Maths and enjoy seeing their progress.
