In my lessons, we start by working out where you are with each topic using the traffic light method. Red means "I'm lost," amber means "I sort of get it," and green means "I've got this." The goal is always to get to green. We don't just patch over the tricky bits. We work on them until you understand them well enough to explain them back to me. There's nothing better than watching a topic you were dreading turn green, and by the time mocks and exams come round, you'll walk in knowing exactly which topics you've mastered.
I also want lessons to be something you look forward to. Maths and science can feel stressful, but learning sticks better when you're relaxed and enjoying yourself. Expect real-life examples, a bit of humour, and plenty of chances to ask the "silly" questions. There's no such thing as a silly question in my lessons. You'll never be judged for getting something wrong. Mistakes are just how we find out what to work on next.
