My lessons are structured but flexible, built around each student's exam board, current level, and specific weak points. We usually start with a quick review of previous work or homework, move into focused teaching on a topic — whether that's coastal processes, urban geography, or map-reading skills — and finish with practice questions or past-paper work, so every session moves you closer to exam readiness rather than just covering content in isolation.

I teach both human and physical geography, from case studies and theory through to practical skills like OS map-reading, cartography, and interpreting geospatial data — areas many students find tricky but that come up repeatedly in GCSE and A-Level exams. Drawing on 20+ years of teaching, including a decade lecturing human geography at university level and formal teacher training at secondary level, I know how to break down complex ideas into something clear and manageable, whatever a student's starting point.

Lessons are delivered online, using shared documents, annotated maps, and past-paper questions worked through together in real time, so you can ask questions as they arise rather than saving them up. I keep a written record of what we've covered and what to focus on next, and I'll point you toward specific resources to work through between sessions, so progress builds steadily rather than starting from scratch each time.

Above all, I aim for lessons that feel supportive and encouraging rather than pressured — patient explanation, plenty of opportunity to ask "silly questions," and regular feedback so you always know where you stand and what to work on next.
