Jun Shao-Hewitt

I am a native Beijinger, currently living in England. I have a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese and over 10 years of teaching experience with adults, business executives, university students, and young learners aged 8–18. I have also helped students prepare for and pass HSK exams. In addition, I have over 20 years of experience as a translator.

My teaching style is practical, interactive, and student-centred. I adapt my lessons to each student’s age, level, and goals, using conversations, games, real-life examples, role-play, and clear explanations. I encourage students to think independently, ask questions, and learn through active participation. My aim is to make lessons enjoyable and engaging, helping students build confidence and see language learning as an interesting journey rather than a difficult task. I also focus on business communication and cultural awareness, helping students use Chinese naturally and confidently in different situations.
