An experienced English as a Second Language teacher, I've been teaching in France for 30 years. I've taught all ages and every level in many different contexts and I enjoy adapting to different learning styles and needs. My teaching has evolved to embrace the latest developments in neuroscience, to support learning, as well as the principles of coaching to give my learners greater agency and autonomy. As a qualified NeuroLanguage Coach I listen compassionately and as a lifelong language learner myself, I'm able to empathize with my students. I encourage and provide regular feedback to keep us working towards mutually agreed goals.
Communication is a key component in learning any language, and this depends on confidence and motivation. For me, the most important aspect is to support my learners in getting to know themselves, their true motivations and their learning style. This allows for more personalised and meaningful support and tuition. I can adapt all kinds of materials and like to bring variety to my lessons to stimulate and make learning efficient. The more practical and meaningful the activity, the better the learning!
