Juliana Soriano

Olá! I'm a native Brazilian Portuguese speaker, born and raised in São Paulo and now living in London. I've been teaching English and Portuguese for over 12 years, working with students of all levels and backgrounds, from complete beginners to advanced learners. I also spent 5 years teaching Portuguese at public schools in Brazil to students aged 11-16, so parents can trust I know how to make lessons engaging and age-appropriate for young learners. Whether your child is a heritage speaker wanting to stay connected to family roots or a complete beginner curious about a new language, I create fun, age-appropriate lessons using games, songs, and conversation to keep them motivated and confident. Since November, I've also started working as a Portuguese language assessor for the FCDO (Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office), which keeps my assessment skills sharp and reflects the depth of my expertise in the language.

My lessons are tailored to your goals, whether that's conversational confidence, grammar fundamentals, exam preparation, and Brazilian culture and slang. Lessons are available online or in person (depending on location), with flexible scheduling to suit busy routines. As a native speaker with over a decade of teaching experience, I bring both authentic language insight and proven pedagogical technique to every lesson. I hold a Bachelor degree in Languages - Portuguese/English, a CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from IH London (Pass Grade A). Although CELTA is focused on English teaching language, the skills are transferable to any language.

Let's get you speaking Portuguese!

Obrigada!
