My lessons are one-to-one and fully tailored to you, available in person in London or online.

In our first session, we'll chat about why you're learning Mandarin, what you already know and how you like to learn. From there, I'll plan lessons around your goals rather than following a fixed textbook.

A typical lesson includes:

- A short warm-up conversation to review what we covered last time
-New vocabulary and phrases built around a real-life topic, such as ordering food, introducing yourself at work or negotiating with a supplier
-Clear, simple grammar explanations in English
-Lots of speaking practice through role-plays, with help on tones and pronunciation
-A short recap and notes to take away

Before tutoring, I spent years using Chinese professionally in client-facing roles in Shanghai and with customers across Asia, and I've also worked internationally in Singapore and the UK. This means I understand both the language and the cultural side of communicating with Chinese speakers, from small talk to business etiquette, and I bring that into every lesson.

Whether you're a complete beginner or want to polish your conversation, you'll leave each lesson able to say something new with confidence.

I'm flexible with lesson times, including evenings and weekends, so learning fits around your schedule. I also adapt lessons as we go: if you want more speaking practice, help with reading menus and signs, or preparation for a trip or a meeting with Chinese partners, just let me know and we'll focus on that. My aim is for you to enjoy learning Mandarin, feel your progress every week, and stay motivated for the long term.
