About me

I should describe myself as a beginner on the ESL journey as my experience so far has been quite sporadic and stretched out over time with many other life events happening along the way.

I have taught mainly from textbooks with the odd lesson here and there where I planned out the lesson myself based on suggestions in textbooks. I have taught from business textbooks to sedondary age curriculum textbooks for learning english as a foreign language whilst in Spain.

At the moment I plan to deliver lessons online on a flexible basis as I am also a University student studying International Huaman Rights. There are therefore many topics I could use to design lessons on, aiming to be sensitive to the issues involved but also to stimulate conversation.

I would be happy to use slides etc as I plan to teach online and would welcome pair work (where two students come to the session to make the exercises more fun and interactive. However, I appreciate that this may be difficult to organise.

Currently I am taking on some english at a local tuition centre so I hope that this will give me further practice in varying the methods and content of my teaching. I have signed onto film english where I get sent films for a wide range of age groups with some aimed at the younger learner. These are great to use for helping children learn english comprehension, follow topics and storylines and answer questions and give opinions on what they saw.

I hope the above makes for interesting reading and will inspire you to contact me.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Jules Adamson.
