My lessons are focused on your needs and built around you're goals. Whether you're studying to pass exams, gain particular qualifications, or just to improve your skills and understanding, I provide a range of resources and structured lesson plans to help you succeed. I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, which means that I have studied and gained a qualification in the ways that people learn - whether you learn best by reading and writing, visual resources, or building on practical tasks, I can adapt my lessons to suit you.
I have privately tutored both primary and secondary students for several years in the UK, often whilst studying myself. I have a Masters degree in English and a PhD in Media and Communication - these subjects are my speciality, but I can teach any subject at primary level and most humanities at secondary. I have also taught university students for five years, and have some experience delivering and designing courses for adults as lifelong learners.
I genuinely enjoy teaching, and seeing my students succeed is a huge pleasure. My students tell me that I have the ability to make complicated ideas easy to understand. My schedule is fairly flexible, as I currently work part time for a charity focused on education, so get in touch for a discussion of how I can meet your needs.
