Joy Neema Sikuku

I am a dedicated and enthusiastic Maths and Science tutor with a BSc in Radiography and ongoing MSc Medical Imaging studies at the University of Aberdeen. Over the past few years, I have developed strong academic knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics, which I now enjoy sharing with students at GCSE, A-Level, and college levels.

My teaching approach is student-centred and supportive. I begin by assessing each student’s current understanding, strengths, and areas for improvement, and I tailor lessons to match their individual learning style. I break down complex topics into clear, manageable steps, using practical examples and real-life applications wherever possible, which makes difficult concepts easier to understand and remember. I also incorporate problem-solving exercises and exam-style questions to help students build confidence and improve their results.

I believe learning is most effective when students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring topics at their own pace. I strive to create a positive and encouraging environment where mistakes are part of the learning process, and each student feels motivated and supported.

Whether online or in-person in Aberdeen, my lessons are flexible, engaging, and goal-oriented. I am committed to helping students achieve their academic potential, improve their understanding of key concepts, and develop the confidence and independent study skills they need to succeed in exams and beyond.

I am patient, approachable, and reliable, and I take pride in seeing my students grow academically while enjoying the learning process.
