I teach GCSE and A-Level Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics. I’m confident teaching across all exam boards — mainly AQA, Edexcel, and OCR — but I’m flexible with others too. I’ve taught several students at the school I used to attend, including both younger and older pupils. I helped during weekly sessions where I adapted my teaching style to suit each student’s learning needs. My approach is all about clarity and confidence. A typical lesson begins with a quick recap of the previous session. For new students, I start by asking them to rate each topic from 1 to 10 based on confidence. We then dive straight into the weaker areas. At the start of every lesson, we revisit this list to track improvement, with the goal of turning every topic into a 10/10. Lessons focus heavily on practice, using a mix of past paper questions and similar ones I’ve written myself. Occasionally, we'll delve deeper into a certain topic, possibly going beyond the scope of the course in order to strengthen understanding. I believe that strong exam technique, paired with plenty of targeted practice, is vital for scoring highly. Homework is always tailored to each student’s needs, focusing on the areas that need the most work. We review it together at the start of the next lesson to make sure everything clicks. At the end of the day, the best way to learn maths is to practice, but practice is most effective when you have a solid understanding - and that’s what I’m here for!
