I have been tutoring for 2 years. I used tutee lead, practice based sessions. I work closely with students to find their weaknesses, and "build up" these areas, starting with me teaching and giving worked examples, then giving "half guidance" on basic questions, before empowering the students to solve basic, intermediate, and challenging questions independently. I especially focus on drawing connections between different topics, and even subjects.

An example might be as follows:
A student is struggling with geometry questions. I explore with them where they get stuck, and find out they don't *yet* understand pythagoras' theorem as they are weak in algebra. I then teach them algebra "from first principles" linking back to arithmetic to reinforce their understanding. Once they have mastered algebra(likely after multiple sessions) we tie the loop with pythagoras' theorem.

This allows them to concretely see how their knowledge is building like a pyramid, and gain confidence in the areas that matter most for their progress in class, as well as with me, offering a highly efficient route for their grades, and understanding of maths to increase.

I also offer:
A written Guide to several topics of GCSE maths, and consistently update it with areas not yet covered, this allows tutees to quickly brush up on topics for class, if they do not have a session with me by their next lesson.

A discord server where tutees can message me at any time, and i respond as soon as possible.
