In my lessons, I focus on keeping things clear, supportive, and tailored to what each student needs. I usually start by checking what topics they’re currently working on at school or where they feel stuck. From there, I explain the key ideas step by step, using examples to show how things work in practice. Then we go through questions together — some we do as a team, and some I let the student try on their own so I can see how they're getting on.

I like to keep the pace flexible — if something clicks, we can move on; if not, we slow down and try a different way of explaining it. I bring in past paper questions where it helps, especially for GCSE students, so they can get used to exam-style problems. My goal is always to build understanding and confidence, not just memorise methods.

I’ve got experience working with students at different levels, including those who find maths challenging and those aiming for top grades. Either way, I try to create a calm, encouraging space where it’s okay to ask questions and make mistakes — that’s how real learning happens.
