My experience:
Student mentor/guide including international students.
Gymnastics coach for all ages who do not speak English as a 1st Language (Welsh Speakers).
I am able to make sessions fun and engaging for both children and adults. Possibly with interactive games and at home challenges. I am also very kind and patient which is useful for those struggling with the Language. I find exposure and repetition crucial to maintaining a proficiency in another Language. Therefore, homework for my students will include things such as but not limited to; written note reminders around the home of the words/phrases they're currently learning, repeated watching of shows/movies in both their native Language and then in the English Language, encouragement to attempt conversational English with English speaking friends/persons, recording myself saying words/sentences for them to listen to and practice saying for our next lesson.
I prefer to chat with the customer and find out their personal English Language goals and then set up a step-by-step plan to achieve them. Which I feel works better than me just creating a general curriculum, as then the lessons are tailored to the individual customer.
