Hello, I am Joseph and hopefully your new programming tutor! I teach the OCR programming language for GCSE at a Grade 9 level, and Python at a much higher, more advanced standard.

My lessons are made up of a mix of short, focused exercises and practical projects. I aim to teach slightly beyond the GCSE syllabus, which gives students a strong advantage when aiming for top grades and helps everything feel easier in exams.

I will tailor each lesson specifically to your child’s needs, adapting the pace and content based on their strengths and weaknesses. I also include regular short assessments to quickly identify and fill any gaps in understanding, ensuring steady and confident progress.

My teaching style is structured but supportive. I focus on building real understanding rather than memorization, so students don’t just learn how to answer questions, they will be able to adapt for any question thrown their way!

By the end of my lessons, students won’t just be prepared for their exams, instead they’ll have the confidence and skills to build their own programs independently.

I have a strong passion for programming and have been developing my skills for most of my life. Over time, I’ve explored different areas of coding, from building small projects to creating more advanced programs, and this has given me a deep understanding of how programming concepts connect in the real world. This experience helps me explain ideas in a clear and practical way, making them easier to understand and apply.
