Jonathan Roberts

My lessons are designed for professionals and higher education students who want to communicate with greater confidence, precision and impact in English.

Each session has a clear purpose and combines focused language development with realistic communication tasks. Depending on your goals, we might work on presenting an argument, contributing effectively to meetings and discussions, delivering presentations, writing reports or academic assignments, preparing for IELTS, or developing the fluency and accuracy needed for professional and university environments. Wherever possible, we can work with materials and situations from your own professional or academic context.

I hold an MA in English Language Teaching as well as DELTA and CELTA qualifications, and have extensive experience teaching Academic and Professional English. I have worked with university students, senior professionals, engineers and government personnel, including many years teaching in the Middle East. I am also a former IELTS examiner, giving me a strong understanding of both language development and formal assessment.

My approach is supportive but purposeful. You will receive clear, constructive feedback, understand where you need to improve, and have plenty of opportunity to put new language and strategies into practice. The aim is not simply to improve your English, but to help you use it effectively in the situations that matter to your studies, career and professional development.
