Jonathan Prosser

I am a teacher with a PGCE Teaching degree and a BA (Hons) Business Studies degree. I therefore am able to teach and support students with BTEC Level 2 and 3, Business Studies A Level and GCSE.
I have a range of skills and enjoy research, solving problems and sharing my skills with others. I also feel that I am strong with analysis, numeric work and Maths. So if you need help with financial, economic or strategic questions I can help.

I am also creative and I majored in marketing. One of my hobbies is digital photography and so I have strong visual skills and I believe your answers can include diagrams and visual prompts to help you answer the question with less words.

I can also support learners for GCSE Business and also Key Stage 3 Maths and Computing. I have taught KS3 Maths using the "White Rose" online Maths curriculum. I have also taught KS3 computing at several different schools.
I enjoy working with people of all ages, young. I am a father and now my children are at a stage where they are taking their next steps towards Higher Education so I understand the pressures and demands that young learners face.

My experience is varied where I have taken a number of different roles and positions which have all added to knowledge of education. This has included teaching ICT and Business at a Special Needs school so I have experience supporting learners with learning needs, such as ADHD and Autism. In mainstream education I have taught Business with both the OCR and Edexcel examining board and understand specific marking requirements to help students answer the question in suitable ways.

I would seek to make my lessons relevant to the current business environment by looking at case studies of successful businesses both locally and internationally. We would also look and practice past papers in preparation for future exams. I would seek to make my lessons visually stimulating with business models where appropriate. Finally, I would listen to my learners so I can help them develop their own answers as much as possible and expand their interest in the subject.
