I have taught Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE level at a variety of Secondary Schools, for over 30 years. In addition I have worked for 2 Exam Boards for over 15 years as an Examiner and Team Leader. This has required me to have an excellent grasp of a range of syllabuses. These have included Physics, Biology and Chemistry, as well as Combined Science.
I teach 'on line' lessons and can structure these to engage with my students to a variety of competences and abilities.
I am familiar with a variety of learning styles and am able to respond both to students who have a good grasp of scientific concepts, but can also relate well to students who are finding scientific concepts quite difficult.
As an Examiner I have access to previous Exam Questions along with Mark Schemes which I am happy to share with students who are preparing for a specific exam.
I have tutored a number of students, mainly with face to face contact, but during Covid, I was employed by a local College of Further Education and ran Zoom meetings. These were for students doing Level 3 BTEC Courses in preparation for University Entrance Exams for Paramedic Courses and Midwifery. A number of these students were from overseas. When Covid restrictions were lifted I met with the students at two local Colleges, and continued to work with them to prepare for their Exams.
Over the years I have helped my students to achieve a high level of success, especially in Physics.
