I have worked as a teaching assistant in my home country where I mentored students in different aspects of their careers such as tutorials on basic concepts which found difficult in their main classes.
This is achieved, first by introducing them to the concepts of the course and its relation to real life situations.
Before any class begins, seek the opinions of students on their previous knowledge about the subject to inform me on what they actually need.
In every class, I allow students to contribute and also as questions for clarification.
