Hello! My name is Johanna, and I am very excited to help you take your English to the next level! I hold a Masters of Science degree in Psychology and am a certified educator. I also hold bachelor's degrees in both psychology and anthropology, for which I graduated cum laude. My writing-intensive secondary education provided me with the opportunity to develop exceptional grammar, reading, and writing skills. Being a native English and Spanish speaker also provides me with an advantage that many other teachers don't have-the ability to understand the nuances that exist between languages and the struggles that those differences create for students. I understand the specific challenges that come with learning a new language, and I will help you overcome those obstacles so that you can finally feel confident with your English skills. You will no longer wonder if people understand you or if you said something right.

I have been teaching English for the past 5 years with great success. I specialize in working with university students preparing to take the TOEFL exam and with business professionals who need to improve their English for work. I have many satisfied students who were able to finally go from intermediate to advanced English speakers with my help. I work one-on-one with my students, whether that be online, in their homes or another community location. As a public school teacher, I provided after-school one-on-one tutoring for struggling students four days a week in addition to the regular curriculum.

I understand that every student has a different learning style, which is why I deliver tailor-made lessons that revolve around your goals and needs.
