Students will let me know in advance what topics they would like to cover in their lesson and which exam board they are studying. Lessons can include demonstrations, worked examples, past paper questions, clear explanations, and recommendations for extra reading based on my own experience and what I have found most effective. Each lesson is flexible and adapted to what the student wants to focus on, whether that’s exam practice, building confidence, or strengthening understanding. For maths, I often focus on applying techniques through past questions, while for physics I place more emphasis on developing strong conceptual understanding.

I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, as this is often where the best learning happens. Lessons are interactive rather than lecture-based, and I encourage students to talk through their thinking so I can quickly identify and address any misconceptions. I place a strong emphasis on understanding why things work, not just memorising methods, as this helps students tackle unfamiliar problems with confidence.

I have a genuine passion for maths and physics and enjoy helping students break down challenging topics into manageable steps. Having gone through the exam system myself, I understand the pressures students face and incorporate exam technique where appropriate, including how to structure answers, manage time, and pick up method marks.

I adapt my pace and teaching style to suit each individual student, whether they prefer a slower, detailed approach or a faster, problem-solving focused lesson. Progress is reviewed regularly to ensure lessons stay targeted and effective, and my goal is for every student to leave each session feeling more confident, capable, and positive about maths and physics.
