I lean heavily towards past paper and exam style question preparation. Naturally if a particular subject is a sticking point a more lesson style approach would be appropriate but in general I believe the best way to ensure you're prepared is to get the average score up on past papers! This can help spotting patterns in common questions and lead to easy marks, as well as settle the nerves. If a problem is particularly difficult I'm more than happy to show how I would solve it but I believe watching others do isn't beneficial, and getting to the solution in your own way, with a nudge here or there if needed is significantly more likely to have a permanent impact on competency.
I think problem solving skills are woefully undertaught and very directly missing in the workforce, there are great benefits to improving your ability to think rationally beyond any specific exam or goal in front of you, and these improvements can and will see you well through your career and life.
