I begin by identifying the areas a student finds most challenging, then break those topics down into simple, manageable steps. I explain concepts clearly using examples and different approaches where needed, before giving students the chance to practise with guidance and then independently.
Lessons are interactive and engaging - I ask regular questions to check understanding and keep students involved, rather than just talking through methods. I also place a strong focus on exam technique, helping students learn how to approach different question types, avoid common mistakes, and maximise marks.
I currently teach Year 7 to Year 11 maths and have two years of classroom experience, so I’m very familiar with the GCSE curriculum and what is expected in exams. My background in sports coaching also helps me structure lessons effectively, keep students motivated, and build their confidence over time.
My aim is to make maths feel more manageable, help students gain confidence in their ability, and support them in achieving the best results they can.
