I am a Qualified Secondary teacher, with a passion for creativity and self-expression. I use this to tailor techniques to individual students.

I am here to be your approachable tutor and mentor; it is important I can offer you a trusted relationship. I always start with personal but professional conversations to build our relationship and make you comfortable.

The first session would be to understand your prior knowledge and experience, listening to your needs and any specific requests. I will listen to your preferences so we can prioritise techniques that are effective for your individual learning. Then we can form a plan and goals in partnership, tailored to you as an individual.

Each lesson will likely have a topic and goal. I will communicate the plan for each lesson at the start. We can then use a variety of techniques, such as:
• Presentation of vocabulary and phonics
• Visual aids for word learning
• Practice conversations
• Description games
• Role play
• Independent writing practice and feedback

I will aim to make each lesson as fun and productive as appropriate. We can use a variety of exercises in each lesson if you prefer to mix it up, or we can stick to the ones that you find the most useful.

You will have the opportunity to practice speaking, listening and writing. The lessons aim to help you put together conversations and speak to others in real life. I want to build your confidence as much as possible so you are more comfortable taking what you have learnt and applying it outside of class.
