I started my teaching journey just over two years ago when, unfortunately, I was hit by a bus on my way home from my mundane job. I looked into doing my TEFL and completed, but then decided to become a primary school teacher. I am currently studying for a BA honours in Educational Studies. I have a Level 5 in TEFL and teach EAL in an International school in Belgium, which I love doing. We follow Cambridge Education and use Collins International Primary English as a Second Language. As a teacher of English for students that aren't fluent in English, I use a lot of realia, and I use visuals and the occasional worksheet just so that the students grasp the concept. In my lessons, I like to endorse reading as much as possible as reading is one of the most important things you can do in English and your native language.
I am very passionate about delivering the best quality lessons for my students. I like to teach students from the beginning of their language journey; I can watch them progress over some time.
I cater all my lessons to the individual student, and if I teach a group, I find out what the students like and cater to their individual needs. I am a very honest and open person, which appreciates feedback from their students, as this way I find makes you a better teacher.
The content of the lessons goes according to the speed of what he students are learning, if they are not grasping the concept i will adjust and go forth so they understand.
Since becoming qualified in TEFL it has become a huge passion of mine, I enjoy teaching English and hopefully that comes across in my lessons
