Hi! My name’s joanna and in tutoring i like to use a system of encouragement to teach younger students, i like to personalise lessons to each student’s individual struggles and start each lesson with a quick recap quiz. In online lessons we use zoom and a shared whiteboard online to do work. In real life lessons i provide the student with a whiteboard and we work through questions together to help teach them (using the “i do, we do, you do” strategy, where first i demonstrate a question, then we work through one together, and then the students performs it). Questions are always encouraged to help understanding because I have personal experience understanding how tricky maths can be sometimes and not being able to ask teachers for questions, so i will use my experiences to help further my students understanding.
