My methodology is based around building relationships with my students. I find this is a good shortcut to be able to a) quickly work out their strengths and weaknesses. This enables me to b) build their trust to enable me to discuss their weaker areas and ways to develop them within a supportive and safe working relationship.

* For some, our sessions may take the form of exam drilling. Learning formats to answer specific questions, focusing on answer structures, based on specific exam board requirements
* For others, it may be increasing the technical accuracy of their writing.
* Other common areas are:
* Increasing reading comprehension (infer and deduce).
* Teaching essay writing planning and structure
* Teaching students how to analyse language
* Extract (literary / non-fiction) or poetry analysis
* Extending 2nd language students ability to comprehend deeper meanings in 1st language level texts
* Developing analysis / terminology of visual and audio visual texts
A Level / International Baccalaureate
* Oral exam preparation
* Linguistic analyis (also learning higher level linguistic terminology)
* Literary critical theories
