My lessons are focused on building a strong understanding of the topic rather than just memorising methods. Having recently completed GCSEs and A-Levels myself, I understand the areas students typically struggle with and how to explain difficult concepts in a simpler, more approachable way. I mainly teach Maths and related problem-solving topics, breaking questions down step-by-step and focusing on exam technique as well as understanding the theory behind the methods.
Lessons are usually structured around a short explanation of a concept, followed by worked examples and then practice questions where I guide the student through the process. I adapt the pace depending on the student’s confidence and learning style, whether they need help with core foundations or more challenging exam-style problems. I also like to use past paper questions regularly to improve confidence, timing, and familiarity with mark schemes.
As an Engineering Mathematics student at the University of Bristol, I use maths constantly in a practical and analytical setting, which helps me show students how topics apply beyond the classroom. My aim is to create lessons that are supportive, engaging, and focused on helping students genuinely improve both their grades and confidence.
