I used to teach primary students when I was in China and also taught math for a University student for 3 months when I was in Canada. Basically, I will just walk through the textbook and highlight the part that is most likely to be examen and answer some questions about the chapter. The key point of mathematics learning lies in mastering knowledge points and practising actively. Of course, everything depends on your course level and school requirements.
