I am a parent myself, with a Year 9 daughter, and through teaching her computer skills at home I realised how much confidence and clarity children gain when technology is explained properly and patiently. That experience inspired me to extend my support to other children who would genuinely benefit from structured, supportive computer learning.
I bring over 23 years of professional experience in programming, data management, and IT systems, and I currently work in a senior data architecture role. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong ability to break down complex technical concepts into simple, understandable ideas, which is exactly what children need when learning computer skills.
My Teaching Qualities
Patient and encouraging – I understand that every child learns at a different pace
Calm and supportive – I create a safe environment where children feel comfortable asking questions
Clear and structured – I explain not just what to do, but why it works
Practical and relatable – I use real-life examples children can connect with
As a parent, I naturally approach teaching with empathy and care, focusing on building confidence rather than pressure.
My lessons are well-structured, interactive, and hands-on.
Each lesson typically includes:
Simple explanation using child-friendly language
Live demonstration so the child can see how things work
Guided practice where we work together
Independent practice with gentle guidance and encouragement
I regularly check understanding and adjust the pace to suit the child’s ability and comfort level.
