During my Bachelor´s degree in foreign languages, I had the great opportunity to learn from
exceptional teachers in English children's literature, English workshops, research methodologies,
pedagogical projects and my final practical projects. I also attended conferences about pedagogy as
well as getting practical work experience while I was studying.
I have been working in English and Spanish education for 8 years. It is a field I love and want to
advance in. I would like to apply for this position because it appears to be a fantastic opportunity to
continue honing my teaching skills. The UK curriculum is rigorous but allows for the individual needs
of pupils, who are challenged but not overwhelmed. I am confident that in this job I could quickly get
up to speed and begin delivering results for the school and its students. Likewise, I consider that with
my Spanish teaching experience I can be an important part of your team when doing activities where
I can mix both UK and Colombian cultures in order to complement my students` knowledge, not only
linguistic but also socio-cultural. It will give students a deeper vision about how the Spanish learning
could be perceived in other parts of the world.
Also, this opportunity to work in the UK will offer me an enormous benefit when teaching English
since the practical experience of working and living in an English-speaking country improves the
cultural and practical context of the language. With this new knowledge I will be able to emulate the
experience in my teaching methods for students learning English as a second language. Not only will
I have the opportunity to share my knowledge of the English language, but also, I will be able to share
the experiences of living the in that language, lending contextual significance to lessons.
