Pedagogy has been something I do with ease because while teaching, I try to understand the academic needs of my students. I have taught in secondary schools and also taught some courses at university level. Some of the major subjects I have taught is Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and some engineering courses such as Mechanics and Thermodynamics.
During my lessons I gradually explain in-depth, to make sure all my student easily understand; I "take it from the roots". My teaching strategy is to use everyday life examples that are analogous to the concepts that I teach. So far, this has been very effective. To ensure that all students participate in my lessons, I ask strategic questions and also follow up on students that seem to be inactive or distracted during my lessons.
Giving assignments during each lesson is of utmost importance, as it prepares the students better for the next lesson. I always encourage students to do assignments and not to hesitate to express the difficulties they face. Furthermore, also give students the chance to ask as many questions as they can. The more questions they ask, the better they understand the lessons. In the nutshell, my lessons are very interactive and I also organise presentations at the end of the programme for students to showcase what they have learnt in that course/subject.
