I have been an Art Director and Production Designer in the TV and film industry for 20 years.

I can teach how to understand a brief, how to understand and use lighting to its best effect, speak with confidence to the client about design choices, budget effectively, planning and schedule works and share a project management system I designed and have been developing for more than 7 years, and how to use the tool effectively for jobs with the TV and Film Industry.

I can demonstrate how to breakdown a film or tv script throughly, what to look for in filming schedules and how to manage expectations so that all parties are on the same page before it’s crunch time.

These principles also work well when designing and delivering an in-person, immersive event.

If you are considering getting into the TV and film industry, I can give pointers as to how to demonstrate your skills to prospective employers. Not only what they are looking for and how to shape your portfolios and CVs to get the maximum out of your previous work but also how to best demonstrate your skills in initial email and phone interactions.

I give pointers on what to look for in employers and how to keep yourself and others safe when in exciting, unusual and sometimes dangerous work environment.

I can also answer questions about working effectively with other departments, the hierarchy on set and the process of decision making from directors to producers.

As well as the art department, I have worked as a DOP (camera and lighting), in the greens department on Jurassic Park and in SFX on high end commercials, as well as designing live events.
