With a fashion and textiles degree and 20 years of industry experience as a fashion buyer, I bring real-world creative and commercial understanding into every lesson. I am also a practicing artist and have more than two years of teaching experience, delivering courses including A-Level Fashion and Textiles, Access to Higher Education Diploma in Art and Design, and Arts Award programmes.

In addition, I am a specialist in supporting students with SEND, ensuring my lessons are fully accessible, adaptable and responsive to individual learning needs. This combination allows me to blend academic expectations with practical industry knowledge and personalised support.

My lessons are structured, creative and tailored to each learner’s goals. I begin by understanding a student’s current level, interests, challenges and ambitions so that the content, format and pace suit their needs. Whether a student is a beginner, developing creative confidence, preparing coursework or building a portfolio for college or university, I design lessons that support meaningful artistic progress.

A typical session includes a clear introduction to the topic, visual references, demonstrations or modelling, followed by guided practical work and constructive feedback. I use professional context, industry examples and creative techniques to help students understand not only how to develop skills but also how to apply them in real creative practice. When appropriate, I also build in research skills, idea development and presentation techniques.

Students may focus on fashion design, fashion business (including buying and marketing), fashion illustration, textiles, garment development, painting, drawing, mixed media or portfolio development. My aim is to build technical skill, creativity, confidence and a strong personal artistic voice within a positive, encouraging learning environment.
