I'm happy to teach students from KS1 to university level. I ensure that I create a positive and relaxed learning environment in my lessons, so that students feel content and happy to learn. My lessons are broken up into different tasks, which are designed to keep things interesting whilst also promoting retention of knowledge. In particular, I like to ensure that lessons are student-led. In our first lesson I will assess your ability and learning goals, and develop a plan on how to reach them, whilst tailoring teaching to your particular needs and wants. As we move forward, I will also ensure that you retain knowledge from previous lessons through quizzes, tasks, and homework.
My background is in history. I have recently completed a PhD, and have also taught history seminars to undergraduates, and history classes to KS3 and KS4 students. My specialism is in medieval legal history, but I am very happy to teach wider history and adjacent subjects like English Literature and RE. I am also very happy to adapt my teaching to your relevant curriculum. In addition, I have a Cambridge CELTA and am happy to teach English as a Second Language. I also have extensive experience of working with learners with additional support requirements as an Academic Support Worker and Autism Mentor. As such, I am particularly well suited to tutor students who have additional requirements, am very happy to tailor lessons to learners' individual needs and learning styles. If you are interested in a lesson, please do go ahead and book one today :)
