I am an upbeat Maths Tutor with previous experience offering tuition to GCSE and primary level students, successfully boosting their mock grades. This has been through the Tutoring company Scholution UK and my previous schools mentoring system, in which we were assigned a student to tutor for a year. My style of teaching is very specific and student centred as I tailor my sessions to the individuals needs. I plan lessons beforehand allowing me to add anything the student states they’re struggling with in school. The General overview of a lesson with me would be:
-Discussion of topics/ Recap of previous lesson
- Teaching of planned topics through worked examples to allow for greater understanding of questions.
- Quick questions to test understanding throughout which we would go through and spot any mistakes.
- “Homework” given to finish for our next lesson

My resources are easily accessible as I use online platforms specific to the School level of the student. This allows me to set questions in which they can complete in their own time to ensure the maximum utility is gained from our lessons together.
Once in a while I allow my students (especially the Primary level) to have game time to keep them attentive and looking forward to the lessons. This can take the form of kahoot or blooket etc which are games that operate in a question/answer format allowing me to add a competitive spin on Maths and give my students a reward for their hard work.
