I find it really important to have easy ways to get knowledge in for English without loads of difficulty or confusion. Annotating and reminding yourself of this annotation and exploring different parts of a word or phrase to give it different meanings can be really important. Poems in English can be difficult to understand but again diving further into the hidden meaning in the poems can give a better understanding for the student. I find that reading the piece of writing continuously can help you understand it further. My English teacher helped me with those methods and I saw massive improvement in my work and exams overtime. You also need to be patient if your not understanding the topic straight away. If you’re struggling you must take Time to have a break and think about it, you will find that after a while you might randomly understand the concept. Asking friends can help too or asking your tutor to re read and explain the concept again will help you further. When descriptive writing it is important to think with your imagination and always link back to your golden thread. In any piece of writing you should have 3 main points and explore these throughout your writing linking them back to each other throughout. This will show an examiner your points and proof of them in your text backed up with quotes from a source or poem. These techniques worked amazingly for me and I found that it really helped my work.
