Jane Xiaojie Shi

Hello! I’m a friendly and experienced Chinese teacher with over 15 years of teaching in international schools across the UK, Europe, and Asia. I have taught a wide range of students, from beginners to advanced learners, including IB A literature, Chinese B (SL and HL) and IGCSE levels, and my students’ results are consistently excellent.

My lessons are supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student’s needs and goals. I aim to build confidence step by step, whether you are just starting to learn Chinese or preparing for important exams. I focus on all key skills—speaking, listening, reading, and writing—using a mix of interactive activities, conversation practice, and structured exercises. I also introduce Chinese culture alongside the language, helping students gain a deeper understanding and appreciation of the subject.

For younger learners, I make lessons fun and encouraging, helping them enjoy learning while building a strong foundation. For exam students, I provide clear guidance, practice with past papers, and tips to improve performance and confidence.

I care deeply about my students’ progress and wellbeing, and I always aim to create a positive, relaxed learning environment where they feel comfortable to ask questions and grow.
