I Have undergone a year of primary school teaching with a specialism in Special Educational Needs (university of Cumbria, Lancaster) before embarking on My Psychology in Education degree at Lancaster University. Following this I worked on a mental health rehabilitation ward as a patient activity worker and then went on to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Therapy. Since then I went on to practice as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in IAPT NHS Primary care settings across England for 6 years. Following this I worked for an online digital health company- Togetherall and subsequently have worked on a self-employed basis with private medical insurers such as Bupa, Aviva, Axa, Vitality and Onebright.
I work with clients to improve their mental health and wellbeing, this can include children, adolescents and young adults of school and university age who may be experiencing exam/ assignment stress, life transition phases, need help with time management, managing worries or improving self-esteem and confidence or have a diagnosed mental disorder. In my year's teaching experience and in my work with clients over the past 15 years, I am experienced at differentiating individual's needs and tailoring treatment protocols in order to meet their specific needs and goals in order to achivee a successful outcome. I am inclusive, empathetic, kind and caring in my approach and have a positive outlook. Clients often comment on my ability to make them feel at ease and well supported.
