I have over four years of tutoring experience, alongside completing an internship at a secondary school where I supported KS3–KS5 science education. This has given me strong familiarity with the curriculum, exam expectations, and the common areas students struggle with. My lessons are structured yet adaptable to each student’s needs. Typically, sessions include revisiting prior content to strengthen recall, developing a clear understanding of new material, and applying knowledge through exam-style questions. I place particular emphasis on method and technique — helping students understand how to approach questions logically and structure high-quality answers.
I aim to teach concepts in a slightly different way from how they are often presented in school, offering a second perspective when something hasn’t quite clicked. Rather than focusing purely on memorisation for exams, I prioritise building genuine understanding and problem-solving skills, which is especially valuable for students considering the subject at a higher level. Homework is set weekly to consolidate learning or revisit previous topics for long-term retention, and short assessments are completed at the end of topics and termly to identify gaps and support exam preparation. My goal is to create a supportive, focused environment where students gain both confidence and independence in their learning.
