My lessons are designed to be calm, supportive, and genuinely useful — not rushed or overwhelming. I start by getting to know where you’re at: what topics you’re confident with, what you find difficult, and what your goals are. This helps me shape each lesson around you, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
A typical lesson is structured but flexible. We’ll usually begin by reviewing previous work or a topic you’ve found tricky, making sure everything is clear before moving on. I explain concepts step by step, using simple language and multiple methods if needed, because everyone learns differently. If something doesn’t make sense the first time, that’s completely fine — we slow it down and tackle it together.
We spend a lot of time practising exam-style questions, as this is where many students struggle. I’ll show you how to approach questions, spot common traps, and structure your answers so you can pick up as many marks as possible. I also share tips I used myself when achieving a grade 9, including how to revise effectively and how to stay calm during exams.
The dynamic of my lessons is relaxed and friendly. There’s no judgement for mistakes — they’re a normal part of learning, and often the best way to improve. You’re encouraged to ask questions, think out loud, and build confidence at your own pace.
I’ve recently completed GCSE Maths at the highest level, so I understand the current exam boards, content, and pressures students face today. My aim isn’t just to help you improve your grade, but to help you feel more confident, capable, and in control of your maths.
