My lessons start off with a five minute check in - you can tell me about your week, anything interesting that happened at school or any fun things you've learned. As a Classics university student, I will often share a small portion of a Greek myth with you. I will also offer feedback on any homework completed. Following this conversation, I will explain the topic for our lesson and we will begin an introductory task before moving on to a PowerPoint explaining the topic in more detail. Afterwards, we will answer questions on the topic. For example, if we are studying tenses, I will recap the definition of a verb. Then together, we will pick a verb and change it into the past, present and future tense together. The activity would involve changing a variety of words to a different tense e.g. run to the past tense, jumped to the present. For the last five/ten minutes, we will talk about how you found the lesson, what you enjoyed, what was difficult etc and I will explain what your homework entails. Lastly, we will play a game together. Options include, snakes and ladders, noughts and crosses or a word search.
