Hi, I'm Jade :)
I am passionate about languages and teaching them in fun ways!
I facilitate drama and arts sessions so I love being creative in how I teach. I have a master's in Applied Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and a PGCert in Waldorf Education, which emphasises arts-based pedagogies. I graduated from my BA in Comparative Literature from University College London (UCL) with a First, and have been working in education ever since. On my year abroad I taught English as a foreign language in Spain through a British Council work placement.
I am a native English and German speaker and am proficient in Spanish as I have lived in Spain growing up. I can teach basic French as well. I work across London nurseries teaching Spanish through music and I have multiple years' experience teaching in schools, as well as experience working with SEND/neurodivergent students.
My approach to teaching is playful and engaging; as someone who speaks multiple languages I know the best way to learn is to be immersed in its sounds through interactive roleplay activities, songs, conversation and everyday scenarios as well as revising grammar and vocabulary. The important thing is to be able to transmit the enthusiasm I feel for the language I am teaching. My existing specialism is teaching young people but I am happy to teach adults as well. I am friendly, open-minded, patient and encouraging. I have plenty of midweek flexibility and am happy to do online as well as in-person lessons, depending on location.
